Proposition 39
Spark opened this year with 7 classrooms in grades K-6. Next year, Spark will offer Grades K-7, and anticipates the need for at least 2-3 additional classrooms to accommodate all students wishing to attend. The sole legal means by which Spark can acquire these facilities from the Sunnyvale School District is by way of Prop. 39.
What is Prop 39?
The intent of Proposition 39 ("Prop. 39") is to ensure "that public school facilities should be shared fairly among all public school pupils, including those in charter schools." (Education Code Section 47614.)

Who can sign?
Parents in the Sunnyvale School District with children entering K-7th grade next Fall and are meaningfully interested in enrolling or re-enrolling in Spark Charter School. Although any CA resident can apply for admission to Spark, for the purposes of acquiring facilities, the Sunnyvale School District will only consider the intent of in-district residents.
